Welcome to the Rex on the Road blog

In a slightly retch worthy way the name Rex is a combination of our names Rach and Alex but we're hoping you can forgive us that small transgression and continue reading. We're aiming to provide a blog that follows our travels as well as giving hints, tips and advice that we've learnt so far and pick up along the way. We have found that by far the best information and advice comes from those who have done it before and hope that some people will read this and it will, in turn, help them in their own travels.

Now you know our names it would be rude not to tell you a little about ourselves. One Brummie, one Geordie; we are both 21 and fresh out of the University of Birmingham where we met. Both quite active we enjoy a little adventure; from skydiving to surfing. Looking back we're not really too sure how we ended up looking forward to a year and half worth of travelling. What started out as a throwaway comment from Rach germinated and suddenly we'd decided that we'd head off and see a little of the world before settling down to the daily grind. We have now finished all the planning and are waiting to get on the plane that will take us away!
