Settling in to Singapore
Day one – breakfast curries, traffic jams and Singapore at night.
14.10.2011
How is it that the days spent on planes and in airports seem soooo much longer? After an early start and a manic drive back to the airport we spent several lifetimes sat around waiting for our plane. Still no upgrade (see And so it begins) but on the plus side both had working screens. Yay!
Finally arrived in Singapore and on the taxi journey to the hostel got to see it lit up at night which was beautiful. We’re staying at the Hangout @ Mt. Emily. It is like the hostel of your dreams. Aside from a slightly funny smell it is amazing. There is something for everyone, a pool table, giant TV for film nights, a well stocked book shelf, and best of all the incredible rooftop terrace. Perfect for parties, sunbathing, dipping your toes in the paddling pool or the stunning views across the cities. We are a little gutted we’re only here for one night.
Rex’s Rules of the Road
- Stay at Mt. Emily Hostel, it is the best. Make sure you book early though as places go quicker the mince pies at Christmas.
