Housemates near and far
The arrival of the Swede and some roomies from the past.
24.11.2011
The past few days have been quite exciting for us. We’ve got a new housemate, a Swedish girl called Carro, a dream for Alex, two blonde-haired, blue eyed girls under the same roof! She’s a pro wake-boarder, over here for a couple of months to work for Alex’s uncle and compete in some wake-boarding events. She’s shown us a couple of videos of her doing her stuff and her blog; WakeCarro, and she is amazing. We’re looking forward to living with her for the next couple of months.
Speaking of housemates, Rach got to talk to some of her third year housemates on skype today. Skype seem to be having a free trial of group calls at the moment so five of us got to chat with our webcams on. She found it nice to speak to them all and even more special since three of them are currently on Erasmus years so we were actually speaking to each other from five different countries; Rach in Australia, Rosie in Austria, Liz in France, Rhys in Germany and Emma in England. Although it got very noisy, it was so nice to chat and catch up. We hope the trial will continue a bit longer as Skype is such a great way to keep in contact. Rach’s sister backpacked around Australia nearly ten years ago and the only way she could keep in contact was to buy phone cards and speak to us all in turn, in a phone box. How times change!
